Lower Light Leadership, LLC
Last Updated: October 16, 2026
This Website Privacy Policy explains how Lower Light Leadership, LLC ("Lower Light Leadership," "LLL," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, protects, and retains information in connection with lowerlightleadership.com and related online resources that link to this policy (collectively, the "Site"). It also describes certain information practices connected to online tools and services accessed through the Site.
This policy is intended for website and online-service privacy. It does not replace the confidentiality terms contained in a coaching agreement, organizational-services agreement, proposal, statement of work, nondisclosure agreement, or other engagement-specific agreement. When a separate written agreement applies, that agreement may provide additional or more specific protections.
1. Information We May Collect
We may collect the following categories of information, depending on how you interact with the Site and our Services:
- Contact and inquiry information, such as your name, email address, phone number, organization, job title, and information you choose to include in a message or inquiry.
- Scheduling and service information, such as information used to arrange a consultation, coaching conversation, workshop, or other engagement.
- Transaction and course information, such as purchase details, course enrollment information, and related records processed by us or by third-party learning and payment platforms. We generally do not receive or store full payment-card numbers.
- Information you voluntarily provide in connection with coaching, organizational leadership development, workshops, assessments, or other professional services.
- Interactive-tool information, including information entered into resources such as the Leadership Style Assessment or People Cost Snapshot.
- Technical and usage information that may be collected automatically by the Site or its service providers, such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring pages, approximate location derived from IP address, date/time information, and security or diagnostic logs.
- Cookie and similar-technology information used for website functionality, security, preferences, performance, or analytics, where applicable.
2. Interactive Tools and Sensitive Information
LLL offers interactive resources designed for leadership development and organizational reflection. These tools are not intended to collect highly sensitive personal information.
The Leadership Style Assessment is intended for self-reflection and development. Assessment information should not be treated as a clinical, psychological, medical, or employment-selection record.
The People Cost Snapshot is intended for aggregate organizational estimates. Please do not enter employee names, Social Security numbers, medical information, patient information, government identification numbers, individual disciplinary records, or other personally identifiable employee records into the tool.
Do not submit protected health information, patient records, or other regulated data through general website forms or public-facing tools. If a specific engagement requires LLL to receive regulated or specially protected information, appropriate written terms and safeguards should be established before that information is shared.
3. How We Use Information
We may use information we collect to:
- respond to inquiries and communicate with you;
- schedule and deliver coaching, consultations, organizational services, courses, workshops, and other requested Services;
- process purchases, registrations, and service administration;
- operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Site and our Services;
- provide, evaluate, and improve assessments, calculators, educational resources, and other tools;
- maintain business, accounting, tax, contractual, and compliance records;
- protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of LLL, our clients, users, and others;
- comply with applicable law, legal process, and enforceable contractual obligations; and
- send service-related communications and, where permitted, information about LLL offerings that may be relevant to you. You may opt out of promotional email communications at any time.
4. Coaching and Sponsor Confidentiality
Professional coaching may involve personal or sensitive information. LLL treats coaching information as confidential in accordance with the applicable coaching agreement and professional ethical obligations.
When an employer, organization, or other sponsor pays for or arranges coaching, sponsorship alone does not give the sponsor unrestricted access to the content of coaching conversations. Any information that may be shared with a sponsor should be defined in advance in the applicable coaching agreement or other written arrangement. Except as permitted by that agreement, authorized by the client, or required by law or an applicable safety exception, LLL does not disclose the substance of private coaching conversations to the sponsor.
The detailed scope, limits, exceptions, record practices, and sponsor-reporting terms for a coaching engagement are governed by the applicable coaching agreement rather than this Website Privacy Policy.
5. Organizational and Business Information
In organizational engagements, LLL may receive internal business information such as leadership observations, survey responses, workforce information, compensation assumptions, turnover estimates, internal documents, operational context, or other nonpublic information.
We use such information for the purposes of delivering the applicable engagement and related business administration. We do not intentionally publish or disclose a client organization's confidential information for unrelated purposes without authorization, except as required by law. Additional confidentiality, data-use, nondisclosure, retention, or destruction requirements may be established in an engagement-specific agreement.
6. How We Share Information
We may share information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including with:
- service providers that support website hosting, email, scheduling, videoconferencing, course delivery, payment processing, document storage, security, analytics, or other business functions;
- professional advisers, such as legal, accounting, insurance, or technology advisers, when reasonably necessary and subject to appropriate obligations;
- a successor or potential successor in connection with a merger, reorganization, financing, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate confidentiality protections;
- government authorities, courts, regulators, law enforcement, or other parties when disclosure is required by law, valid legal process, or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or security; and
- other parties when you direct us to share information or give us permission to do so.
7. Third-Party Platforms and Services
Some Services are delivered through or linked to third-party providers, which may include learning platforms such as Uteach, payment processors, scheduling tools, videoconferencing providers, website hosting services, and other technology providers. Those providers may collect information directly from you under their own privacy policies and terms.
When you leave the Site or interact directly with a third-party platform, that provider's privacy practices govern its collection and use of information. LLL is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services that we do not control.
8. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies
The Site uses a lightweight first-party analytics system to understand general website use and improve its resources. The system may record a randomly generated browser identifier stored in local storage, a temporary session identifier, pages viewed, referring domain, general device category, date and time, and selected interactions such as article views, PDF views or downloads, outbound-link clicks, visits to interactive tools, completed Leadership Style Assessments, and clicks to book a conversation.
The analytics system does not collect names, email addresses, form contents, coaching information, People Cost Snapshot entries, Leadership Style Assessment responses or scores, full IP addresses, or information used for cross-site advertising. It does not use browser fingerprinting. URL query parameters are not stored. Traffic that LLL owners or editors identify as internal may be marked separately so it can be excluded from general reporting.
A random browser identifier may remain in local storage so repeat visits can be counted without identifying the visitor. A temporary session identifier is used to group activity into visits. Visitors can reset these identifiers by clearing browser storage. The Site honors supported browser Do Not Track signals for this analytics system. Blocking local storage or analytics requests does not prevent use of the Site's core content and tools.
9. Sale of Personal Information and Advertising
LLL does not sell personal information for monetary consideration. We do not knowingly provide personal information to third parties for their own unrelated direct marketing in exchange for payment.
If our practices materially change, we will update this policy and provide any notice or choices required by applicable law.
10. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to provide Services, maintain appropriate business and coaching records, fulfill contractual obligations, resolve disputes, establish or defend legal rights, comply with tax or accounting requirements, and meet applicable legal or professional obligations.
Retention periods may vary based on the type of information, the nature of the relationship, contractual requirements, legal obligations, and whether the information remains reasonably necessary for an active or anticipated business purpose. Engagement-specific agreements may establish different retention or deletion requirements.
11. Information Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse. No website, transmission method, storage system, or security measure can guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for using appropriate care when transmitting sensitive information and for safeguarding credentials associated with any third-party account used to access LLL Services.
12. Children and Minors
The Site and professional Services are not directed primarily to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us without appropriate authorization, please contact us so we can review the situation.
Services offered to minors, if any, may require parent or legal-guardian involvement and may be subject to additional written terms.
13. Your Choices and Privacy Requests
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights concerning your personal information. These may include rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of certain information, or to object to or limit certain uses.
You may also unsubscribe from promotional email communications by using the unsubscribe mechanism in the message, where available, or by contacting us.
To make a privacy-related request, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests, and some information may be retained where necessary to meet legal, contractual, security, accounting, or professional obligations.
14. State Privacy Laws
Certain U.S. state privacy laws apply only when specified legal thresholds or other requirements are met. If an applicable privacy law grants you rights that apply to LLL and are not fully described in this policy, we will honor those rights as required by law.
Nothing in this policy is intended to limit rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
15. International Visitors
LLL is based in Utah, United States. If you access the Site or provide information from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or in other locations where our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live.
If applicable law requires additional protections for international transfers or processing, we will take reasonable steps to provide those protections.
16. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to websites, articles, platforms, or services operated by third parties. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing information.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our Services, technology, or legal obligations change. The updated version will be posted on the Site with a revised Last Updated date. Material changes may also be communicated through additional notice when appropriate.
